performing at a massive conference!?

We were beyond excited when we got the invite to perform at The Church of Jesus Christ's Young Single Adult (YSA) Conference this past August! The theme for the event was “I am a disciple of Jesus Christ” which fits perfectly with our mission to ignite the fire of faith in Christ. The two-day event was held in Salt Lake, which meant two whole days to spread our mission... and, of course, squeeze in a Barbie movie night in the girls’ hotel room. (You can't have everything be serious, right?)

Thursday rolled around, and we kicked things off with sound check at the massive convention center. The next day after checking in to the hotel, we were running—and I mean, sprinting—to the Delta Center for some epic performances! We had passes to see Emma Nissen, Rachel Platten, and Ben Rector, so we tore down to the floor to get as close to the action as humanly possible. (If only my legs could match my excitement.) Seriously, they were incredible, and watching them live had us pumped for our own performance—though we may have had to sneak out a little faster than Ben Rector’s final notes!

Now, here’s where it gets a bit tricky. This YSA Conference was just a week before we would be performing our headline show at the Covey Center. Oh, and we also learned our most difficult choreography for our new song, “Already Won,” just days before the conference. So, what did our producer decide? He thought it’d be helpful practice and hilarious to throw us into the deep end and have us perform it for a crowd that might (or might not) appreciate every perfectly synchronized move. We were nervous... but determined.

Our performance wasn’t exactly flawless (maybe a few missed steps and a couple of awkward shimmies here and there). There were also fewer than 50 people seated in the audience. But hey, we were still thrilled to share our message with the lucky few—and those who were just nearby, eavesdropping from a distance. Oh, and of course, there was the Barbie movie marathon in the girls' hotel room later that night. (In true form, I fell asleep halfway through. Shocker.)

The next day, after a long business meeting.. it was time for more serious matters: bouncy house obstacle course competitions and a tricycle race. We were all about that competitive spirit! Despite our manager Shane’s recent LASIK eye surgery and not being in tip-top shape, he still managed to dominate in the tricycle race. (At least now we know who’s ready for the next Olympic event...)

With our adrenaline pumping from the trike victory, we got ready for our second and final performance. It was definitely one for the books—great vibes, great people, and a whole lot of unforgettable moments. Afterward, we got to meet some familiar faces and a bunch of new fans who made the whole weekend even more special.

Check out some of the highlights! ⬇️

Over the course of three conference weekends, nearly 20,000 young adults attended the YSA Conference, and we were beyond blessed to be part of it. It was an amazing opportunity to sing our hearts out and spread the fire of Christ to the rising generation. Seeing thousands of young adults come together to bond over the pursuit of becoming disciples of Jesus Christ was something we’ll never forget!!
