a (voice) message for you!
Back in May, an explosion of connection between us and all of you occurred. It was amazing and overwhelming at the same time and we’re so grateful for the many people we were able to meet. Here is what pasó (happened)!
Que Pasó
Jimmy had seen a video that the band Telehope made and we decided to give it a try! Essentially, we present the trade offer that if you follow us, we send you a voice message. The video we posted exploded with views, likes, and comments, and within merely a few weeks our instagram followers exponentially grew from 2k to 17k. It was exciting to have so many new friends, but what was most rewarding were all the personal experiences we shared with people from all over the world.
From All Over
We met lovely people from Egypt, Italy, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Israel, Romania, India, Germany, Bulgaria Portugal, Brazil, Argentina, France, England, and all over the United States! As we chatted back and forth with so many people we heard their joys and happy memories as well as the very difficult trials they are facing.
So Many Connections!
A teen from Zimbabwe said, “You guys are wonderful, it’s so refreshing to see a band that actually lives up to their word and listens to the word. I gave Come As You are a listen and, my golly. I just felt the holy spirit enter my room, enter my headphones and cleanse me clean. It was heavenly… things you could only expect to hear when you like get the gate pass to heaven. I wish amazing things for your band.”
A grateful mom wrote, “My son just showed me a voice chat that you sent him, and I didn’t know what kind of band y’all were. I just want to give you a little back story, me and my family moved to Colorado Springs 3 years ago and he have hit wall after wall after wall being here and we can’t afford anything out here. I went to a church today for groceries and help for utility assistance and I asked for prayer, and I told god that I was sorry I told him that I’m going to do better, and then y’all popped up in my sons life, I don’t know but that seems like god to me, thank you for making my sons day, his face had the biggest smile. Thank you”
A struggling young man messaged, “Hey Jimmy I’m from Bulgaria. I’m actually not doing good because my girlfriend killed herself a week ago and your guys music has been keeping me happy.”
We Got Our Work Cut Out
Honestly, sending 17,000 thousand voice messages takes a lot of work. We have spent countless hours in the office, at parks, at home, in the middle of the night (I’m looking at Abi) in order to send these voice messages and meet everyone. It has been worth every minute and we are still here chipping away at our goal. Your support means the world to us and we are grateful to have you along for the ride! Thank you!
